So I saw this Gucci dress on Kim Kardashian and I thought it was gorgeous and definitely something I would wear. When I saw this dress at Eloquii, it definitely reminded me of the Gucci dress and with a few minor alterations I could work it into a similar look for plus size. I know yall think I am spending a bundle in alterations...and I was, until I picked up a my own sewing machine (I spent all of $40 at the local big lots). I use it to do very minor alterations, such as sewing up slips, hems, waist reduction, and clipping my pencil skirts. I still go to my tailor for big projects. For this project, all I did was rip the thread out of the seams in the front of the dress and stitch the raw material. I promise it looks harder than it was. Even if you don't want to do this look, as is, this dress is a great similar look for less.
I actually did this project myself in all of an hour before I had to attend a party for The Weekender Dallas. Tonight's event kicked off a girls shopping weekend to be hosted at the W. Check here for details. Fabulous Dallas designers, like Edgar Gomez (you remember him from a previous post), will be there with their chicest frocks for purchase. Check some of the photos from tonight's event.
