You have to forgive my after 5pm hair.  My hair isn't as neat at 5pm as it is at 9am...LOL.  Moving on, I picked up this super cute top from Ladan's Closet.  This top is super versatile, I can't wait to wear it in a million ways.   I also picked up these houndstooth tights from Ashley Stewart which are not only cute, but roomy too!  And yes I do go overboard on my personal dress code at work, but fashion is fun and I have after to 5 to lay around in sweatpants.

What is that Velvet?

One of the best lines in the movie, "Coming to America," is "What is that Velvet?  And every time I see anything that is or looks like velvet that line either comes out of my mouth or runs through my head.   If you would like to partake in that hilarious line in the movie, please see the youtube video below. 

I through these flats were so fun.  They have a crisscross elastic band making them look "so ballerina."  They surprisingly came from Payless.  Oh and the velveteen jacket that I picked up from Talbots is sooooo nice.  It is so structured and the material feels great.  It really has a rich look.

Oh Autumn, How I Love Thee

I can't believe that God actually let Fall visit Texas.  When you have lived in 100+ weather for 40+ days you begin to wonder that if it's even possible for it to get cold.  The high today was actually 70 degrees  and the low 42.  This is proof that small miracles happen everyday.

I thought I'd give you a close up on a pair of shoes that I got for my birthday.  They also have an adorable mini wedge on the bottom.  I picked these up at Nordstrom Rack in Park Lane Dallas.  It has an endless selection of size 10s, 10.5s, 11s, 12, & I even saw some 13s.  I love scanning the Nordstrom Rack shoes...I know there is going to be something there that I will like and that is in my size.  

Birthdays, Bows, & Mad Men

So today I turned 25 today...again.  I celebrated my birthday over the weekend with a shopping trip that my husband took me on.  Unfortunately, this adult card that I have acquired doesn't care if its my birthday.  So I went to work.  But I came home to flowers, cake, balloons, and a multitude of wonderful facebook birthday wishes, singing voicmails, text messages galore.  So thanks to all who wished me Happy Birthday.  Even though I had to work it made my day better.

Moving on,  I did a mini outfit post.  The Mad Men Collection for Banana Republic came out in August and I loved and wished that I could fit into more from the collection.  I ended up picking up this cream lace shell.  It is so darling and just a dainty piece to add to your collection.  Banana Republic has been one of my all time favorite places to shop, but as I have put on a few pounds the clothes are little harder for me to fit into.

(Disclaimer - If you will look to the far right there is a green blanket on the couch -- no matter how many times I ask for this blanket to be folded neatly and placed on the couch it never happens -- Just had to get that off my chest.)

My Teacher's Lounge Debut

My adventures in working today lead me to a magical place that one rarely gets to see...the teacher's lounge.  As part of my work duties today, I had to go and visit a teacher and he took me into the teacher's lounge.  I must say it was very cozy, inviting, and looked nothing like the school.  It was almost like a mini Starbucks.  Now it is all so very clear about why they won't allow children in their space.  It felt like the perfect getaway from kids, school lunches, school restrooms (I visited one today and I can't believe I actually used to go to the restroom in a school.  They are disgusting and smell of oldness).  I actually would have like to have stayed and took a catnap.

Anywho, as I have been into buying Talbot's skirts lately, I picked up this wool skirt for $134.  This skirt came in 31 inches in the women's sizes, but they were out of the skirt in my size. I ordered the petite skirt in 29 inches, because it looked like a fabulous skirt to have.  I would have loved the 31 inch, but the 29 inch was fine. This skirt is made of a super soft, but light weight wool.  Although a great material, the issue that I foresee having is the skirt getting stretched out of shape.  These pics were taken at the end of the day and you see the bottom is a little stretched from me basically getting in and out of my car (I had a lot places to go today).

Outfit of the Day: Pharrell Williams & Talbots

I was excited to purchase a 31 inch long skirt from Talbots.  It's so hard to find a skirt with a good length, so when I saw that Talbots had a 31 inch skirt I jumped on it.  The skirt is ponte and is really nice.  I wish they had more colors.  Now that I am seeing the skirt, the thing that I will probably change is have the skirt taken in at the bottom to make it more of a pencil fit.  Other than that it's fabulous.

I was shopping for spirits and came across Pharrell William's feminine cocktail Qream. I was told from my online buddies that the drink had been out for some time.  That's what happens when you lose your party pass, you the last one to know about the new cocktails.  Anywho, the bottle was so pretty I said, "Ok Pharrell, I'll bite."  

The back of the bottle states that:
